My Toxic Love Story, Utz Girl Salie

MY TOXIC LOVE STORY, UTZ GIRL SALIE, 2019, MAJOLICA, CLAY, STREAM TRASH, AND DIRT.

The UTZ potato chip brand is one that I have had my entire life, and I identify with my family and our summer lunches together. When I pull an UTZ bag out of the stream it is closer to home. In this ceramic sculpture I was inspired by both the character Salie, as well as, the way the embankment looks when a part falls into the water. What is left is a layering of different ages of trash and debris built up over the years.
